Commenting on today’s announcement (21/6/2019) that Jistcourt, a family-run business who have been based in Port Talbot for many years, has called in the administrators, David Rees AM said:
“Once again we see the construction sector experiencing difficulties and I am sure that this would have been a very difficult decision for the company to make. I have spoken to the Minister for Economy and Transport, Ken Skates AM, to ensure that he and his officials are doing everything they can to support the company and its employees at this time.”
“I have been assured by the Minister that the Welsh Government stands ready to support the employees and the company in the best way possible.”
“This blow to the construction industry in the region, following in the wake of the fall of Dawnus, shows that austerity policies inflicted upon us by the Westminster Government are damaging our economy and putting people’s livelihoods at risk. I stand by the employees of Jistcourt and my office is open to offer support to those individuals and their families who have been affected by todays announcement.”
